Make sure you’re ready for anything this summer by making a plan and checking it twice.

Whether you’re staying put in the beautiful Bay of Plenty or exploring a different part of our country, be aware of the different hazards we may face, and have supplies at the ready. You’ll have peace of mind knowing your prepared, and can fully focus on your whanau and friends.

If you have visitors coming to our region, make sure they're aware of our tsunami evacuation zones, and what do to if an emergency were to occur.

If you’re heading away, make sure you prep your house for potential severe weather events that may happen while you’re away. Clear your gutters, tie down trampolines or heavy outdoor furniture, and bring any cushions inside, to stop them blowing away or causing damage if there’s a chance of high winds.

We know there’s a lot on at this time of year, but NEMA’s Get Ready website also helps make the prep work that little bit easier, so check it out if you need some tips on where to start!
